Welcome - নমস্কার

I am a Postdoctoral Associate at the National Tutoring Observatory (NTO) in the Cornell Ann S. Bowers College of Computing and Information Science at Cornell University, and affiliated with the Future of Learning Lab. At Cornell, I am fortunate to work with Dr. Rene F. Kizilcec, Dr. Allison Koenecke, and Dr. Kirk Vanacore. At NTO, I primarily lead the Open Leaderboards for Benchmarking Automated Speech Recognition in Educational Contexts project of the K-12 AI Infrastructure Program. This new multi-year program, aiming to close the gap between scientific principles of teaching and learning and the promise of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), is managed by Digital Promise, and core it’s partners - Learning Data Insights, DrivenData, Massive Data Institute at Georgetown University, and Catalyst @ Penn GSE.

I finished my PhD in Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) under the supervision of Dr. John H.L. Hansen. I was primarily affiliated with the Center for Robust Speech Systems. My doctoral research interests included Speech Processing & Recognition, Machine Learning, and Speech Disorders. I worked on various speech processing algorithms to understand adult-child interactions in naturalistic environments (such as classrooms, households, etc.) and it’s applications on early childhood language intervention and beyond. I actively collaborated with Dr. Dwight Irvin at the University of Florida - Anita Zucker Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Studies, Dr. Kathy Bigelow and Dr. Jay Buzhardt at the University of Kansas - Juniper Gardens Children’s Project.

During my Master’s research, I worked on collaborative projects with Dr. Lisa Goffman and Dr. Thomas F. Campbell at the Callier Center for Communication Disorders at UT Dallas. I was fortunate to start my first research journey in 2019 under the supervision of Dr. Jun Wang at the Speech Disorders & Technology Lab (currently at UT Austin).

Beyond my academic commitments, I served as the Student Council Representative for the Technical Committee on Speech Communication for the Acoustical Society of America and on the Student Advisory Committee of the International Speech Communication Association as Event and co-Media Co-ordinator, and later as an advisor.
